1995: BUTTERFLY CLIPS (1995)

We personally wonder how this style became popular in the ‘90s but I guess the decade made quite a few mistakes, and this is one of them. We do recall though how teens and little girls loved this playful style and how they thought it was fun and cool back then. However, to what degree they may have loved and enjoyed this look, it just really did not make it to our trendy taste. Anyhow, we can’t deny the existence of this trend.

1996: WILD STREAKS (1996)

Popularized by Ginger Spice, Geri Halliwell, this hairstyle became quite a trend that even famous celebrities went for. With the popular Spice Girls wearing it, we just know that the degree of influence is just way too big – leading millions of girls begging their moms and dads for a streak in their bright red-orange or other colored hair. Way to go, Ginger Spice!

1997: SPIKY PIXIE (1997)

We can’t think of no other than Winona Ryder, who rocked this haircut better than she did. This ’90s chic, edgy style of pixie became a trend after Winona Ryder debuted her new cool look in 1997. Crediting to Ryder’s influential look, the hairstyle became one of the cool hairdos many ladies went for. Even up till today.

PIGTAILS (1998)

Another unforgettable look is Britney Spears’ in her Baby One More Time music video, where she wore braided pigtails. Although this isn’t the first-time pigtails surfaced. Hers is definitely the cutest. And she will ever be the one to be credited to for the cutest pigtails even on adults.

FACE-FRAMING HIGHLIGHTS (2000)

Finally, the 20th century arrived, and opening it was led by this hairstyle with credits to Beyonce for rocking a honey blonde wavy hair with face-framing highlight effects. Finally, the century brought in some wearable colors to fit for all occasions. Although we find this hairstyle rare nowadays, this is still no doubt wearable up till now and could be a few years more. Oh, how we miss Queen B and wonder what new hairstyle she’ll do in the years to come.
